BA in Speech Communication, Iowa State University, 1985
MA in Communication, Central Michigan University, 1986

Kristyn graduated from ISU in 1985 (Sp Comm) and earned a Master’s degree in Communication from Central Michigan University in 1986. While at ISU she was active in Residence Hall organizations, worked for the Sports Information Department and served on Senior Class Council (now SALC).

Kristyn, her husband Kurt (ISU Accounting ’85) and their family lived in Asia (Korea, Vietnam, Japan, and China) for twelve years, returning to the Quad Cities in 2008. Since their return to the U.S. Kristyn has been active in volunteer organizations including local school boards, the Genesis Foundation Board, Friends of Bettendorf Parks Board, Catholic Service Board, and others. She is a lifetime member of the ISU Alumni Association and an ISU Foundation Governor, serving on the Board Development Committee.

Kristyn and Kurt live in Bettendorf, IA. They have 5 grown children, two of whom are ISU alums, one a current student, and all Loyal Forever True ISU fans.
